U.S. Ethereum ETFs Approved by SEC, Trading Began this Week

U.S. regulators gave final approval for spot exchange-traded funds that hold ether (ETH), giving Americans access to a second major cryptocurrency via easy-to-trade vehicles. Nine ETFs began trading Tuesday, marking another big milestone just six  months after the country’s debut of spot BTC funds.

Rumours have been swirling that Trump could announce he’d create a U.S. bitcoin strategic reserve during his much-hyped appearance at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville next week. Notably, Elon Musk switched his X profile picture to one with laser eyes - a designator of bitcoin and crypto supporters.

France’s First Bitcoin ETN for Pension Plans Launched

VanEck and Inter Invest have collaborated to introduce the first Bitcoin exchange-traded note (ETN) in France, enabling regulated Bitcoin investment within French pension plans.

Tetra Trust Partners with Onramp to Elevate Bitcoin Custody Solutions Globally

Onramp announced this week that it was partnering with Tetra Trust, Canada’s first and only qualified custodian for digital assets, to fortify its multi-institutional custody model.

WazirX, one of India’s leading crypto exchanges was hit by a security breach last week, losing an estimated $230 million. The firm has filed a police complaint and reported the incident to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team.
