Purpose Investments Launches Second Staked Ethereum ETF in Canada

In a press release this week, Purpose Investments announced the conversion of Ether Capital Corporation to Purpose Ether Staking Corp ETF. The ETF will begin trading on the Chicago Board Options Exchange under the ticker ETHC.B. This is the second staked ETH ETF launched in Canada after 3iQ’s ETHQ.

Deutsche Telekom Plans to Mine Bitcoin

A new major player has entered the bitcoin mining space: telecommunication giant Deutsche Telekom, the parent company of T-Mobile. The company has been very active in the digital assets sector for years, notably running validators on several networks and starting Energy Web Chain last year, described as “the world’s first public blockchain designed explicitly for the energy sector.”

SEC Chair Gary Gensler Suggests Ether ETFs Should Be Fully Approved By September

Gary Gensler told senators in a budget hearing that the applications should be finished this summer. He suggested they’re already approved and that registration details at the staff level are the final hurdle.

Trump Says All Bitcoin Mining Should Be In the United States

In his latest embrace of crypto, former U.S. President Donald Trump said he wants all remaining bitcoin to be mined in the United States, warning that Bitcoin may be the last line of defense against a Central Bank Digital Currency.
